International Alert is looking for a consultant or team of consultants to conduct the final evaluation of the Tushiriki Wote! project (Let’s all participate!), which aimed at building peace through women’s economic empowerment and participation. In July 2018, the Tushiriki Wote project will come to a close.
We would like to conduct a final evaluation of the project to determine the quantitative and qualitative results over the four years during which the project has been implemented, measured against the project’s key indicators, baseline and mid-term evaluation data. Overall, the final evaluation will assess the impact of the project and its contribution to strengthening the civic, political and economic empowerment of women in eastern DRC and the wider Great Lakes region.
The purpose of the final evaluation is to determine quantitatively and qualitatively the current situation in relation to the main elements of the project (gender relations, women’s economic empowerment, women’s participation in decision-making, and community rapprochement) among the target beneficiaries in North and South Kivu (DRC) and cross-border areas of Rwanda and Burundi.
The final evaluation will measure the performance of the project’s key indicators against the baseline data. The final evaluation will also measure the quality of the work accomplished and the different approaches and methodologies used, in order to formulate recommendations to improve future programme design.
The consultant is required to have a minimum of five years of progressively relevant professional working experience in the field of gender, development and/or peacebuilding, and proven experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research, and specifically conducting baseline studies or evaluations.
