Background
The Oxfam GB DRC programme is undergoing a major overhaul in order to ready itself for long term programming while still remaining agile enough to respond to major crises, especially in the East of the country.
To deliver long term programming simultaneously with substantial humanitarian assistance the programme has been organised around different teams. These teams are The West Province, East Province , an Emergency Response Team and an Policy, Advocacy and Campaign Team.
The programme is thematically organised around the Essential Services, Right to Life and Economic Justice pillars and in practice this means WASH, Humanitarian and Livelihoods with a central focus on safety and security accessing livelihoods. Governance is the central theme for the country programme.
Position
The Funding Coordinator position is a Strategic Role and the Funding Coordinator is, in conjunction with the Oxfam International Director and/or the Programme Director, the central representative of the organisation where it concerns Donor Relationships. A good understanding of the country strategy and how this has been translated into programmes and project is essential in the communication with donors.
In addition to the donor relationships the funding coordinator is responsible for following up the contractual arrangements with institutional partners. A good understanding of partner contracts is essential in this role.
Who are we looking for?
Oxfam DRC is looking for a self assured experienced Funding Coordinator who wants to contribute to the development of a large and DRC orientated programme,
the person should have : An Extensive experience in managing donor contracts and fundraising activities, in particular from institutional donors, such as ECHO, DFID, OFDA, DFATD (CIDA), SIDA, UNICEF, UNDP, WFP, AFD, EU etc, Sound understanding of Program Cycle Management in emergencies and/or development environments.; A strong overall communication skills in English and French; A strong numeracy and financial skills, particularly in developing budgets, financial management/monitoring and reporting; Good written skills with proven ability to develop and present proposals and donor reports, for both internal and external audiences; High level of analytical skills and critical thinking; Ability to research, analyse, and report (e.g. researching donor priorities, evaluating proposals and reports, determining match between external funding opportunities and Oxfam objectives); Ability to manage and lead a team to achieve goals in a complex working environment; Experience in capacity building; coaching and delivering training at an individual and group level; Ability to network and represent Oxfam to donors and external institutions; Highly developed interpersonal and communication and relationship skills with ability to influence external organizations and individuals; Ability to manage his/her time effectively; Willing and able to adapt priorities in order to respond to changing demands; Self motivated, target driven and an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising.
