Democratic Republic of the Congo: Grants Coordinator DR Congo

NRC has been present in DRC since 2001 and currently runs operations in the eastern provinces of North & South Kivu, with offices in Goma, Bukavu and Beni. The programme has an annual turnover of approximately NOK 140 mill. (2016). The DR Congo operation responds to populations affected by conflict and displacement in North and South Kivu provinces. Our primary areas of intervention are education, food security & livelihoods and ICLA in order provide legal assistance to individuals while building capacity of local commissions, state and customary authorities. In support of these activities we provide shelter and WASH activities to promote integrated programming, through schools construction, transitional shelters in areas of return, or water harvesting points and latrines.

We are now seeking a Grants Coordinator, who will report to the Head of Programme.

Job description

• Develop and maintain overview of all grants, donor requirements, rules and regulations, internal and external deadlines- including filing of grant documents
• Coordinate the development of donor applications and reports, ensure donor compliance and quality control
  
  • Coordinate and consolidate multisector concept notes, project proposals and reports to donors
    
  • Coordinate and consolidate the emergency donor reports
• Contribute to the development and revision of funding proposals and budgets
• Be updated on donor priorities, track and share relevant calls for proposals
• Contribute to continuously improving internal grant management systems
• Provide an internal help-desk on donor related issues, organize and deliver trainings in;
  
  • donor rules and regulations
    
  • proposal and report writing
• Contribute to Project Cycle Management (PCM) trainings and usage of the NRC PCM frame work
• Coordinate the development and distribution of internal reports
• Support external donor audits
• Represent with relevant partners and donors as delegated
• Facilitate the organization of proposal planning meetings, grant opening meetings, progress meetings, and grant closure meetings
• Identify new funding opportunities

Qualifications

• Between 3-5 years of relevant experience within field of expertise
• Relevant experience from the project management in the humanitarian sector
• Experience from working with humanitarian and development donors
• Good understanding of donor rules and regulations
  
  • Specific knowledge of ECHO and UNICEF rules and requirements
• Skills and experience in report and proposal writing
• Strong analytical skills (data and financial)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
• Knowledge of the context in Eastern DR Congo
• Experience with Project Cycle Management
